“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.” (Ephesians 6:10) NKJV. As covenant partners, we stand together in faith—proclaiming the Gospel, teaching the Word, and advancing the message of redemption to a world in need.
In recent weeks, we designated time for prayer & fasting, strengthening our communion with the Father and sharpening our spiritual sensitivity. Yet I sense clearly that the Holy Spirit is directing our focus toward another vital truth: God’s desire for our total wholeness. The Apostle John wrote, “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth” (3 John 1:2). This reveals the heart of the Father—spiritual vitality, physical health, and complete well-being.
In this edition, I want to share with you a message I recently ministered, titled “Jesus My Healer.” The ONE who healed yesterday still heals TODAY. We are not merely reflecting on what Jesus did over two thousand years ago—we are declaring who HE is right now. Hebrews 13:8 proclaims, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.”
“Reader, one of the outstanding reasons why so many of God’s people are not healed is because they do not fully understand the attitude of God toward sickness. So many people waver in their faith because they have heard, expounded from the pulpit, that it is God’s will for them to be sick.” Dr. Roy Hicks
In many circles, salvation has been limited to forgiveness of sins and eternal life. While these are foundational truths, the biblical concept of salvation (Greek: sōtēria) includes deliverance, preservation, safety, and wholeness. Exodus 15:26 reveals God as Jehovah-Rapha—“For I am the Lord that healeth thee.” Healing is not merely something He does; it is an expression of His covenant nature.
Real faith is launched from your spirit of knowing the will of God. When believers understand God’s attitude toward sickness, confidence replaces uncertainty. The Greek verb σῴζω (sōzō) is one of the most theologically significant terms in the New Testament. It conveys the idea of rescue from danger and restoration to wholeness, encompassing both spiritual salvation and physical healing.
Unlike modern English distinctions that separate salvation from healing, sōzō functions as a holistic term, addressing the total condition of the person—spirit, soul, and body. According to standard Greek lexicons, sōzō means: To save (from sin or judgment), To heal (from sickness or infirmity), To deliver (from danger, demons, or oppression), To preserve or protect, and To make whole or restore.
Galatians 3:13–14 declares that Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law. “Redemption” means to be bought back by the payment of a price. If sickness was part of the curse—and Scripture shows that it was—then redemption includes deliverance from it. The blessing of Abraham belongs to us through Jesus My Healer.
I recall many healings throughout the years in my life and others whom I have witnessed the divine healing of Jesus. In the early 1980s, I returned from a mission trip weighing 150 pounds. I was slowly recovering, knowing Jesus is my healer. A few years later, more physical weaknesses attacked me, and after several tests, doctors finally diagnosed me with tuberculosis. The X-ray showed scar tissue on my lungs, and the Holy Spirit had eradicated tuberculosis. I followed the protocol for treatment by the doctor, knowing in my spirit all along JESUS WAS AND IS MY HEALER!
God’s nature is good. Every good and perfect gift is from above. There is no sickness in heaven. God does not put sickness on people to teach them a lesson; God is a good GOD! James 1:17 “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.”
The devil’s nature is bad. The devil’s gifts and works are evil. The devil is a bad devil. “For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil” (I John 3:8). We read Acts 10:38 identifies sickness as “oppression of the devil” and Jesus as the Deliverer. Acts 10:38 “how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.”
The following are five vital steps drawn from this message to help you receive and maintain your healing by faith:
1. Settle the Issue of God’s Will to Heal. Real faith is launched from your spirit of knowing the will of God. You cannot pray in faith if you believe God is the source of sickness. Acts 10:38 identifies sickness as an oppression of the devil, and Jesus healed them all. First Peter 2:24 declares, “By whose stripes you were healed.” Psalm 103:2–3 confirms that He forgives all iniquities and heals all diseases. Confession: “Father, Your Word says that by the stripes of Jesus, I am already healed. I settle it in my heart today: it is Your will for me to be whole.”
2. Believe You Receive When You Pray (The ‘Right Now’ Factor). Jesus said, “Whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them” (Mark 11:24). Faith believes at the moment of prayer—not when symptoms leave. Hebrews 11:1 calls faith the evidence of things not seen. Do not wait for feeling or what we sense in the natural; believe the Word. “They shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall RECOVER” (Mark 16:18).
3. Align Your Heart and Tongue with the Word. “A wrong confession is a repeat of the defeat.” Jesus taught that you can have what you say (Mark 11:23). Hebrews 10:23 instructs us to hold fast our confession without wavering. Your words either empower faith or reinforce fear. Speak to the mountain; do not magnify it.
4. Act as Though It Is Done (Corresponding Action). James 2:17 declares that faith without works is dead. Throughout Scripture, healing often required action—stretch out your hand, rise and walk, wash in the pool. As the Spirit leads, give your faith expression. Praise God. Move in confidence. Act on the Word.
5. Resist the Enemy’s Counterattack. At times, symptoms may attempt to return. Jonah 2:8 warns, “They that observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy.” Symptoms may be facts, but God’s Word is Truth. Stand firm. Resist doubt. When a symptom speaks, answer with Scripture. Confession: “Satan, you are a liar. I refuse to accept these symptoms. I am the healed of the Lord, and I remain healed by the power of God’s Word!”
F.F. Bosworth (1877-1958), one of the great pioneers of divine healing, taught that when symptoms attempt to return after healing has been received, they are deceptive evidence—what he referred to as lying vanities. Scripture declares, “They that observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy” (Jonah 2:8, KJV).
Such symptoms are not from God but reflect the work of the enemy, whom Jesus called “the father of lies” (John 8:44). Brother Bosworth emphasized that believers must not allow feelings or physical sensations to become the judge and jury of their health. God’s Word must remain the final authority. If the Word declares that healing has been provided, then it is the symptom that must leave—not faith. Faith, he taught, refuses to accept as evidence anything that contradicts the Word of God. 1
PRAYER: Jesus, You are MY healer. We thank You that You bore our sins in Your own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed (I Peter 2:24). We receive Your peace, Your provision, and Your healing touch right now. We give You all the glory for the wholeness manifesting in our lives. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
CONFESSION: Jesus saves! Jesus Heals! Jesus delivers! Redemption has provided all that I need in HIM. The WORD declares it, and my faith receives it. Today is the time to stop identifying as the sick trying to get healed and begin standing firm as the healed. In the mighty name of JESUS. I am anchored in His might and wholeness, and His victory is mine today!
“Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.” I Peter 2:24
