“Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.” (Galatians 5:1) NKJV
The word of God gives man the power to walk in freedom. Once a person is born again, he has a new Father. In Gal. 5:1, the new creature in Christ stands fast for freedom and is told not to be entangled again with the yoke of bondage. There is freedom and forgiveness of sin even after the born again experience. Once a person knows their authority, they can begin to exercise power over the attacks of the enemy.
Man is tripartite. Spirit, soul, and body comprise his composition. Once again, if a person is born again, he cannot have a demon possessing his spirit. The Bible provides an example of a man possessing several demons in Mark 5:1-20. The evidence was three parts were taken over by demons until Jesus cast them out of the man. He received his deliverance and gained freedom.
When I am teaching on freedom, I like to use the example of a coat. You are protecting yourself from the weather when you wear a coat on a chilly winter day. The coat is not on the inside of you; the garment is wrapped around your body to keep you comfortable. The word possession means when demons have made residence inside a person that is not born again. The word oppression is like a coat wrapped around a physical body. There are some instances when a believer can be oppressed by the enemy until oppression is dealt with through the authority of Jesus Christ.
How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him. (Acts 10:38) The good news is you can be set free and walk freedom! The oppression of the devil does not have to be a part of the believers life. In Jesus name claim your FREEDOM today!
